Pure Podiatry (Chiropody) is a Private Podiatry Practice located in Blackhill near Consett in Co Durham. Pure Podiatry offers professional help with all aspects foot care. Services are available to anyone with a Podiatry / Chiropody need within Consett, Stanley, Lanchester, Burnopfield, Rowlands Gill, and the wider County Durham localities. It aims to provide high quality podiatric interventions in a safe, clinically clean and up to date clinical environment.
Podiatrists / Chiropodists within the Practice are HPC Registered. All patients will receive a comprehensive initial assessment which enables a complete treatment plan to be developed and agreed with the client. Evening and Saturday morning appointments are available and home visits can be arranged for those unable to attend the practice. There is free, on street parking immediately outside as well as a car park opposite. For those using public transport, the practice is on a regular bus route. The clinic has a ground floor reception, waiting area and treatment room. Gift Vouchers are available and the practice also runs a loyalty scheme.
The Range of Services Provided Includes:
- General Clinics for the treatment of podiatric problems. This includes nail care, ingrown toenails, corns and callous removal and verrucae treatment

- Diabetes Foot Screening / Assessment and Risk Classification

- Nail Surgery - surgical removal of the nail under local anaesthetic, a long term solution to problematic nails

Pure Podiatry - Founded by Amanda Pearson
Amanda has over 25 Years experience in the Podiatry / Chiropody Profession. She graduated from Durham School of Podiatric Medicine in June 1988 and commenced NHS employment in September 1988. She has progressed through the podiatry department over the years, where she is still employed today. Amanda has continued her professional development and specialises in diabetic care, wound care and minor surgery.
Over the years Amanda has experience of working in local hospitals, health centres, GP surgeries, nursing / residential care homes and provided domiciliary visits to those patients who are unable to leave their home. Amanda has supported a Podiatric Surgeon in theatre, performing regional anaesthesia pre-operatively and also provided post operative care to patients who have undergone a podiatric surgery procedure. She has been involved with multidisciplinary clinics, working alongside consultants, general practitioners, practice nurses, district nurses, dieticians, specialist vascular nurses... gaining a wealth of knowledge and experience.
Amanda has continued her professional development over the years and has attended numerous courses and updates applicable to her role. She have also been involved with podiatric health education talks, displays and presentations to a wide range of audiences, including GPs, practice and specialist nurses as well as patient groups. During the last 3 years Amanda has also undertaken management courses that are applicable to her current NHS role.
